The retro-reflective sensor, also known as retro-reflective photoelectric sensor, mirror-reflective light barrier, or retro sensor, with type number RK 80/7 from Leuze Electronic, is an electrical retro-reflective sensor. It offers a detection range of up to 3m and uses infrared light. The device features a cubic (encapsulated) design and operates on 20-250V AC/DC with a relay contact output. It has the dimensions 6 x 3 x 50 cm and a weight of 0.23 kg. Retro-reflective sensors are used for non-contact object detection over longer distances and are applied for position control or presence detection in industrial automation and mechanical engineering, for example, to monitor conveyor belts or control feeding systems.
