De inductieve sensor, ook bekend als benaderingsschakelaar of metaalsensor, met typenummer IN5129 IN-3004-BPKG van IFM Electronic is een elektrische inductieve sensor. Deze heeft de afmetingen 10 x 10 x 2 cm en weegt 0.04 kg. Inductieve sensoren detecteren metaalachtige objecten contactloos door een hoogfrequent elektromagnetisch veld te genereren en de demping ervan bij nadering van een metaal te gebruiken voor schakeling. Typische toepassingen zijn te vinden in automatiseringstechniek voor positieherkenning van machineonderdelen, voor het tellen van objecten op transportbanden of voor het bewaken van eindposities in productie-installaties.
